Welcome to the Bogastow Ski Team
The Bogastow Ski Team welcomes new members. The team gives young skiers of all ages an opportunity to
train and compete in slalom and giant slalom courses against skiers from
other local clubs. Bogastow
competes in the Eastern Massachusetts Buddy Werner League.
No prior race experience
is required; however, skiers must be able to get on and off a chair lift
unassisted and
ski the terrain at
The 8 & under race course is gentle with the emphasis on fun.
The 9 & older skiers compete on more competitive courses with the
emphasis on improving skills and successful course completion.
Where and when…
The team trains at
Races are held on seven Sunday mornings in January, February and March.
Races are held at
Nashoba, Ski Ward in 
Skiers compete in age groups based on their age as of December 31, 2007.
The age groups are 8 & under (J6), 9-10 (J5), 11-12 (J4), 13-14
(J-3), 15 and over (J2).
Fun Stuff…
In
recent years, about 60 children from Dover, Sherborn, Weston, Wellesley,
Westwood and surrounding
town have raced for the team with some qualifying for additional
post-season championship races.
Ribbons are awarded to the top 10 finishers in each age group at every
race. Trophies are awarded to the top 10 finishers at the Trophy Race,
at Championships and at the end of the year to every racer who competes
in
three or more races.
Fees…
The registration fee is $120 for skiers 8 & under and $200 for skiers 9
& over.
Skiers must also purchase discount lift tickets for practices and
competitions.
