Join Bogastow coaches, skiers and their families to kick of the season with a afternoon of training, fitness challenges, ski swap, BBQ and fun!
Piche Qualifier – February 2012 at
The Piche Qualifier is a race that offers an opportunity for our strongest racers to compete against skiers from the other EMBWL teams and racers from the Tri-State (USSA) organization. The three age groups included in this race are J5, J4, and J3, both boys and girls. Two skiers from each age group will be selected to race in the Piche Qualifier. The Piche Qualifier is held at Bradford Ski Area, and is usually held on the second Sunday in February. The top six finishers in each age group then qualify to represent
Kathy Bartolini Invitational (Trophy) Race– February 2012
The Trophy Race takes place on Sunday morning of the same weekend as the Piche Qualifier and is intended for all EMBWL racers not participating in the Piche Qualifier. This race is held at Ski Ward or
Championship Race – March 2012 at Ski Ward
The EMBWL holds a championship race at the end of the season. This race includes all the teams in the league. To qualify, a racer must ski in at least 3 regular season races. The top 10 finishers in each age group will receive awards, and all J6’s receive participation ribbons. The championship race is usually held the last Sunday in February or the first Sunday in March. A trophy for the team with the winning score for the day is awarded. This has nothing to do with how many points the team has accumulated over the season. A separate award is given based on season standings. A team barbeque is held during this fun event
At our last race, the EMBWL Championships, each team puts on a barbecue for its members and their families. Volunteers will help with planning and set-up.
Our annual banquet, held at the end of the season for racers and their families, is a wonderful time to celebrate our team. Each racer who has competed in at least three of the six regular season races is recognized for their accomplishments. We look for volunteers to help us coordinate this event.
